Diablo Ballet’s Annual Gala will feature dinner, auctions, and an exclusive performance by the dancers of Diablo Ballet and the Company’s Apprentice and Professional Intermediate programs, set to a live jazz trio. Wine tastings will feature wine from Gann Family Cellars and Karmere Winery. A highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the first annual Patron of the Arts award to former mayor of Walnut Creek, Gail Murray, for her contributions to the arts in the local community. Murray is a founding member of the Diablo Regional Arts Association and presently serves as a trustee. She is a former member of Diablo Ballet’ s Board of Directors and is Vice President of BART’s Board of Directors.

Proceeds from the event will benefit Diablo Ballet's artistic offerings as well as the company's acclaimed PEEK Program (Performing Arts Education and Enrichment for Kids, formerly known as the Dance Development Education Outreach Program). PEEK is a unique arts awareness program that enriches the lives of over 5,000 young people and families each year. PEEK brings performing arts education into local public schools, where at-risk students learn the creative process of movement and physical expression. PEEK also makes the performing arts accessible to under-served youth and their families by offering free performances at the Lesher Center for the Arts in Walnut Creek. Teachers, parents, and community leaders have praised the PEEK Program for the way it has engaged, motivated and inspired so many children in our region.

Diablo Ballet is an internationally recognized professional performing dance company committed to enriching, inspiring, enlightening, and educating children and adults through the art of dance. The company consists of international world-class artists who have performed in such distinguished companies as the Kirov Ballet, Bavarian National Ballet, Ballet Columbia, National Ballet of Venezuela and the San Francisco Ballet. Tickets to the gala will not be mailed.
