Greg Sudmeier has stood before orchestras all over the country, including San Jose Symphony, the Oakland-East Bay Symphony, and the Peninsula Civic Light Opera. He has conducted Masterworks, many Broadway shows, and his own arrangements and original pieces. As Musical Director and Drummer for The Afternoon Show with Ann Fraser and Ross McGowan (CBS-KPIX TV San Francisco), Mr. Sudmeier worked with such artists as Sammy Davis Jr., Bobby McFerrin, Pete Escovedo, Mary Wells, Mel Torme, Rosemary Clooney, Les McCann, and Joe Williams. Contracting for the "Skywalker Symphony", San Francisco Bay Area's premiere recording orchestra, Mr. Sudmeier has worked exclusively on sessions for feature films and albums, while coordinating the finest recording musicians in all styles and idioms. His extensive experience with Skywalker Sound at Lucas-Digital/Lucasfilm includes contracting for and performing on numerous feature film soundtracks, jingle and album sessions, such as John Williams' Grammy nominated Star Wars Trilogy CD - CBS Sony Classical Label. A prolific composer, Mr. Sudmeier has written and produced television show themes including Mac and Mutley, Evening Maganzine, The Afternoon Show, Pacific Currents, KPIX Latenight Movie, and music segments for K101 - Don Bleu Morning Show. Mr. Sudmeier's awards include the CLIO Advertising Award for Best Musical Adaptation, and the Eastman School of Music Duke Ellington Award for Outstanding Achievement in Arranging and Orchestration. Mr. Sudmeier received a Grammy nomination for his work on the Star Wars Trilogy with John Williams and the Skywalker Symphony. He is currently Resident Musical Director for Hillbarn Theatre in Foster City. Mr. Sudmeier has been Diablo Ballet's Musical Director since 2010. |
