TECHNICAL
INFORMATION
Stage
Requirements
1. A minimum performance area of 40' wide by 20' high is required
to perform most of the company's pieces.
2. A minimum performance space of 35' deep from the plaster line
to the black scrim is required to perform most of the company's
pieces.
3. A sprung stage covered with masonite is strongly desired.
a. The
stage surface must be clear of all debris (i.e. screws, nails
and splinters).
4. A dance/marley floor must be laid prior to arrival or the company. The dance floor
of preference is a Harlequin Ballet floor.
a. The
color of the dance floor is black.
b. The performers will use rosin on the dance floor.
c. The seems and the ends of the dance floor must be taped down
with Permacell black gaffer tape.
5. There should be two new mop heads available to clean the floor,
as well as hot water and buckets.
Stage
Dressing / Soft Goods
1. The
Main Curtain must guillotine and have a split at center.
2. The company requires four legs per side of the stage for masking,
entrances and exits.
a. All
sets of legs have a minimum opening of 40'.
b. There is a 6' opening between legs down stage to up stage.
c. The color of the legs is black.
d. The material should be a heavy velour.
e. The legs must be long enough and wide enough to mask everything
off stage.
3.
The company requires enough borders to mask the electrics and
the legs.
a. The
color of the borders is black.
b. The material should be of a heavy velour.
4.
Backdrops
a.
A black sharkstooth scrim is positioned 3' to 5' down stage
of the CYC, and at least 6 inches downstage of the CYC Electric.
b. A heavy nap velour, "Full" black drape.
c. A white seamless cyclorama.
d. A white or ivory bounce cyclorama.
5. Up stage crossover must be no less than 2'-6'' wide.
a. There must be nothing stored in the crossover.
b. The entrances to the crossover need to be free of any obstruction.
c. The crossover must be sufficiently lit.
d. Any cable runs on the floor must be carpeted and labeled with
white gaffer tape.
Lighting
and Electrics
1. Plot
a. Please
have the plot colored and templates placed prior to the arrival
of the technical staff.
b. Please have the washes focused prior to the arrival of the
technical staff
2. Dimming and Control
a. There must be a minimum of 130 circuits
b. There must be a minimum of 130 dimmers
c. The lighting board must be computerized, and capable of 250
channels and 150 dimmers. The lighting board must also be capable of follow cues.

We prefer to use ETC Express, Expression, or Obsession Boards.
3.
Front of House
a. The
front of house should have sufficient equipment to provide an
even 2-color wash from the plaster line to the black scrim from
the voce positions.
b. The front of the house washes should be focused prior to the arrival of the technical staff.
4. Electrics
a. There
are Four Electrics. All Electrics should be 50' in length
and approximately 7' apart. See plot for specifics.
b. Four lighting booms per side with six (6) units per boom.
The booms need to be 14'-16' tall. See plot for specifics.
c. All CYC Lighting units should be a minimum of three colors.
d. The CYC ground rows of preference are L&E mini-strips
or MR16 units with EYC bulbs.
5.
Special Electrics / Effects
a. Two (2)
DF-50 hazers.
b. Two (2) multiple speed box fans.
c. Other special effects are piece specific
6.
A/C circuits
a.
Eight (8) clip lights for running lights — Please place one (1) at each table stage right and left.
b. Two (2) circuits in wing three on stage right and left for hazers and fans.
Sets
and Scenery
1.

Sound
Requirements
1. A
main P.A. in a stereo configuration is optimal, however a mono
cluster is admissible.
2. Sub
Woofers are required for most repertory pieces.
3. Two (2)
vocal microphones are needed with the ability to reach to center
stage (wireless microphones are preferred). These microphones should be placed downstage right.
4. Two
(2) professional quality compact disc players are required for all
performances.
5. A
minimum of two (2) stage monitors are required for all performances.
a. Program
to the dressing rooms is strongly desired.
b. A performer page system is required from the stage manager
station to the dressing rooms.
6. One (1)
vocal microphone is required at the tech table for all rehearsals.
7. Communication
— headsets and beltpacks (clearcom) should be run prior to arrival:
a. Down
stage right at stage manager call station
b. Lead fly person
c. Stage right stage hand

e. Sound engineer
