"Ms. Yamazaki has performed with the Houston Ballet and BalletMet Columbus, where she danced a wide variety of soloist and principal roles in both classical and contemporary ballets, including Princess Vasilisa in James Kudelka’s Firebird, Stanton Welch’s Maninyas, Nosotros, and Chairman Dances and Jiri Kylian’s Forgotten Land. She also originated the role of Kitri in Stanton Welch’s Don Quixote."

Hiromi Yamazaki received her ballet training on full scholarship at the Marin Ballet and the San Francisco Ballet Schools. In 1994, she won first place in the ballet division at the Music Center Spotlight Award Competition in Los Angeles, and in 1995, was awarded the Encouragement Award at the International Ballet Concours in South Korea. Ms. Yamazaki has performed with the Houston Ballet and BalletMet Columbus, where she danced a wide variety of soloist and principal roles in both classical and contemporary ballets, including Princess Vasilisa in James Kudelka’s Firebird, Stanton Welch’s Maninyas, Nosotros, and Chairman Dances, Jiri Kylian’s Forgotten Land, Princess Aurora in The Sleeping Beauty, Swanhilda in Coppelia, the Sugar Plum Fairy and Clara in The Nutcracker and Titania in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. She also originated the role of Kitri in Stanton Welch’s Don Quixote. Ms. Yamazaki has performed as a guest artist with several dance companies and she earned her Bachelors of Arts Degree through Saint Mary’s College. |
